Re: Pygmy Project - Logic.
I just take a look now and again, if I feel like doing it. If it's an interesting hunt then I'll be more motivated to finish it. Explains why I haven't looked at some things since 2003!

Re: Pygmy Project - G-Force
It has been ripped, by Gryzor: http://janeway.exotica.org.uk/file.php?id=68807 He's correct, I took a look; the samples are delta-encoded, and the other parts of the tune are scattered in different places throughout the code, just like Gryzor says. It's funny that Pygmy Projects only have three know...

Re: Pygmy Project - Logic.
Sure, here they are , but they're not really "packed", they're just Protracker modules with a mild tweak to stop them loading in Protracker. This is what fixes them, no real packing or unpacking involved: import sys, struct for modname in sys.argv[1:]: with open(modname, 'rb+') as fh: # halve sampl...

Re: Pygmy Project - Logic.
Hmm, according to my hard drive, I already had a look at Skizzo Demo 2 in March 2003, but didn't finish. Looking back on the forum, it was also discussed then: https://www.exotica.org.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=173 - and Asle finished it! The GPMO modules are exactly the same as Protracker, except...

Re: Pygmy Project - Logic.
I still use DeliTracker and EaglePlayer on the Amiga, now emulated with FS-UAE . On desktops/laptops I use UADE , on my phone I use Droidsound-E , XMP or ZXTune . The music comes from UnExoticA (naturally!) or Modland or AMP . I don't know how bad your hard drive crash was, but you can go to crazy l...

Re: Pygmy Project - Logic.
I happen to be looking at this, and this is the format so far - I'm stuck at the same place Asle was, I just need to decipher the notes format. SGT format - only used in Pygmy Projects "Logic" demo at Assembly '95 Overall format - 4 bytes: how many bytes of note data (ND) - 4 bytes: how many bytes o...

Improved Fuzzball rip
The music from Fuzzball does not play in EaglePlayer, UADE, DroidSound-E, etc. The tunes do play in DeliTracker. Were the existing rips were done correctly? I looked at the original game disk: title music is 10898 bytes loaded from sector 934 (offset $74C00) ingame music is 27332 bytes loaded from s...

Re: New Protracker packer format?
It turned out to be ProPacker 2.1, so I documented it in the wiki: https://www.exotica.org.uk/wiki/ProPack ... ile_format

Bob Wakelin has died
http://www.pcgamer.com/esteemed-cover-artist-bob-wakelin-has-passed-away/ R.I.P. He'll be remembered for the striking cover art he created for hundreds of games (all published by Ocean, or am I wrong?) What was your favourite? Mine is probably New Zealand Story: https://www.exotica.org.uk/mediawiki...

Re: Disposable Hero demo rip: BWB ?
And finally I wrote that unpacker! It was on the TODO list for 8 years in 2003, so it has been a goal that took 21 years to achieve! I had to do a lot more reverse-engineering of the replayer to understand the format. But I was right, it was a Protracker packer. It's quite interesting, because it ha...

New Protracker packer format?
I was ripping the intro tune from "Scoopex Plays 2 Unlimited" (1993) and found what looks like a new protracker packed format -- it's exactly the protracker replayer with changes to accomodate the packed format. However, it's not one recognized by ProWizard or NoiseConverter. Does anyone recognize t...

This may be 6 years late in replying, but yes, Delphine modified the SoundFX replayer to double all periods. Original replayer: NoStop: move.l 4(a6),0(a5) ;Intrument Adr. move.w 8(a6),4(a5) ;Länge move.w 0(a6),6(a5) ;Period Super: move.w 20(a6),d0 ;DMA Bit or.w d0,DmaCon ;einodern NoNote: rts Delphi...

Did you know Fred Fish died in 2007?
I only recently found out. I'll miss him, his disks were excellent and I wouldn't be such a UNIX whiz if it weren't for his efforts with ADE and GeekGadgets at bringing Unix to the Amiga. I thought it was daft to have ixemul.library talking directly to filesystem handlers instead of using the AmigaD...
