The xadmaster system unpacks COP archives. I should know, I wrote the client to do it.

xadundisk file1.cop DF0:
xadundisk file1.cop file1.adf

It's a lot easier than trying to use the original COP! tool, which is a GUI disk copier (with additional archiver facilities) written only in German.

thx deeply. I'll have a look. Though while waiting for your answer, I had a look at this COP file (Cult MD2 to name it) and it appears to be only a lot of XPK files. Once ripped off, unpacked and merged, it looks like a standard disk dump. hum ... anyway, thanks for your help again :).

regards,
Sylvain

It is a disk dump. Read the source code of my client for the accurate, reverse engineered file format. There are also 4 compression methods that aren't XPK.

I have used cop to archive over 15000 disks during 1994 up to 1997. It was never meant to give the files to public.

have fun using the files :-)
thanks to KYZ for the xad client

ps, ftp.amigascne.org will have a complete update very soon.
All cop files removed.
and over 10000 new demos, musicdisk, packs, diskmags, slideshows. All damaged archives
removed, like the LSD grapevine magazine disk images.

COP is a commercial product. Programmed by Armin Sander (TIP/TNM) Soundtracker, Oktalyzer.
COP was a part of "RAP TOP COP"
Archiver, disksalvage, and optimizer.

bye bye zeg
