Avatars sizes / other customisations

Post by BuZz »

I have increased avatar size to 120x120 and filesize to 32kb. Is it enough or do you think we go go even slightly larger?

Any other customisations wanted?

(The forum is not used all that much it seems, but might as well tweak stuff now and again)

Ey up!

Bigger avatars is a good start.

More posts would be an even better start! :D
Cheers!

I think there's no need for any bigger avatars, that'll only accomodate for annoying animations/huge avatars that make a oneliner post stretch too far. And I agree, people should become more active here in the forums, where are you lurking?! :)

When I say annoying animations I'm not refering to XtC's one (RSI Megademo rules! Wish it had the sound in it too haha) but rather the stupid long (short movies, even, sometimes!) non-related "funny" ones people seem to be using on other forums.

Now that was a labour of love!

Due to the original more strict limits imposed on this forum, I had to hand optimise the animation and reduce the number of colours from the original demo to keep the size down!

Yeah, it IS a shame there's no sound! :D

Good job I didn't use my custom made Turrican II intro story AnimGIF as an avatar, its rather large! Which reminds me, I should probably put that on the wiki!
Cheers!

Haha I've heard that one wreaked havoc with BuZz' email client. Seen it, and it's loooong =)

Hrm.. and how come I can't use BBCode. BuZz probably put me in n00b mode.

Because you checked "disable bbcode" on that post ?

No, I can not turn bbcode on in this area. it works in other areas, but not this one. Also my post count seems unaffected by whatever I post here. Maybe some forum setting? anyway, not important.
