Just wondering if anyone here has used HivelyTracker at all ? http://www.hivelytracker.com
It is based around AHX but with more channels (16) and other stuff. It also runs quite ok on AROS on linux, and on WinUAE.
Not a huge amount of tunes for it (not including AHX tunes which it can play), but I think some of the stuff that has been made is fantastic.

One of my favourites is http://www.hivelytracker.com/tunes/Virgill/forsaken.hvl which has such a great melody.

[edit] Here is an ogg of the tune to get an example of the sound (There is a commandline player and wav creator on the site also for most platforms) http://malus.exotica.org.uk/~buzz/exotica/forsaken.ogg

I haven't used it to create any music, as there only seems to be Amiga versions of the tracker available. And to be honest I can't be bummed to start it (I doubt it will even run on my A1200 with 030  ). But a little bird whispered something about a clone for PC's.

I do however love the works by syphus, virgill, keito, et al. I mean AHX is great in the first place. And now the extra channels and what have you not. Kudos to Mr. Tickle (your new nick sucks :P ) and BuZz for their work on this.

It does run under winuae/aros ok (not winAROS though as I think there was an audio problem).

But there is also a multiplatform version of the tracker in the making I believe, but I have no details as yet.
