New format ?

Hello

In the Dpaint4 cracktro by QUBE there is a strange NT module : TriTris
http://bitworld.bitfellas.org/demo.php?id=7749

I disassembled the routine, a NT/ST replayer but with an addon : some samples seems to be synthetized in real time.
download archive here
in the archive, there is the ripped module : if you listen it, you can only hear the drums, not the melody.
you can found the full source code of the original replayer with the 2 files (the file tritris.mod in 2 parts : patterns and samples) : tritris.mdat and tritris.msmp (for the assembler source)

I don't know if it's possible to convert it to normal module (I think not)

there is also the tritri.sc68 version playable with my sc68player. (I haven't done yet a deliplayer version...soon)

Ey up!

Thanks for taking the time to have a look at this.

(BuZz, should we also be hosting an SC68 collection for the Atari ST and Amiga music? I just like collecting things! :D

Or are we reliant on Modland to do this?)

Hey,

I'm surprised. Maybe there's something I missed but it strongly looks like an AudioSculpture format.
If you extract from $9Bc2 to $ABCC and save that to a .nt , you'll get a working music file.
Maybe I state the obvious and if so, I'm sorry :).

ah! yep
ok, but with Deliplayer or XMplay.
not with a standard module player.
I can't use it directly with fmod for example with a remake of the Qube intro : http://cyberpingui.free.fr/quberemake.zip
I should use SC68 player.

but is it possible to convert this type of file in .mod ?

It's quite "standard" format as you can see in the examples on modland :
ftp://ftp.modland.com/pub/modules/Startrekker%20AM/

Also, include UADE in your list :)

Sylvain

Ah, and no, you can't convert "back" to PTK. Either you use a player that support AudioSculpture/StarTrekker AM or use another music ;).
Why don't you encode that one and play it as OGG/MP3 ?

because of size !
sc68 is better for an intro : original size of module
