DeliPlayer on PC:smpl? sjs? smp? rjp?

Post by incunabulum »

I just went on a nostalgia trip. I got DeliPlayer and a bunch of ripped game music. However, Deli doesn't seem to play the above formats. Is there anything I can do to play them? I am on a PC running XP.

Thanks.

hehe, install a real OS or use an Amiga... ;)

ok, seriously:

rjp.* = Richard Joseph aka vectordean
sjs.* = (Scott Johnston) Soundplayer

both eagleplayer modules and sample music files can be found on Wanted Team's Homepage http://amiga.emucamp.com/wt/wt.html

The other two seem just to be the instruments file of a "song/sample" music format like TFMX's mdat/smpl combination.

E.g. SMP.* is a sample file, used e.g to play SJS and
SMPL.* is probl. really the TFMX samplefile. If you play for example an mdat.* the corresponding smpl.* file is automagically loaded by the replayer.

hope it helped

Deli player seems to not support them, how to upgrade it or add new libraries to play those files in Deli Player?

I have a mirror of it, but its some months old

[edit]

weird. I'm getting a corrupted data error on konqueror on the main site and lynx doesn't work with it either. I managed to update my mirror of it though with wget .. ?? anyway. don't have the time to work out why, but the site above should be up to date. now

Deliplayer can use eagleplayer modules for playback of files. To play the formats mentioned, you should get the eagleplayers from the wantedteam page and install to the deliplayer/amigaplayers directory.

Read what Buzz said! You will not install Eagleplayer itself, but only the players. Deliplayer understands most of those players. Put them in Deli's amigaplayers folder and everything will be fine.

I downloaded all eagle players and stuffed them into this folder and i see no changes. Still it won't play file described as RuchardJoseph although im sure i have it in my deliplayer. And apparently when i downloaded my Deli Player first time it managed to play smp,rjp files(Ruff n Tumble game). How it happen i have no idea!

Ey up!

When you downloaded all the 'Wanted Team' Eagleplayers, did you extract the Eagleplayer files from the lha archives before you stuffed them into the AmigaPlayers folder?
Cheers!
