Ledstorm.mod from Tim Follin / Mods Anthology

Post by Carsten »

Hi,

I'm looking for ledstorm.mod from Tim Follin. It's a rock tune with ~80k and was covered by someone. I already checked Google and Aminet and didn't get a hit.

I'd be cool if someone can mail it to me or upload it.

Then I heard about Mods Anthology. Where can I get it (I'm from Germany)??

Kind regards

Carsten

Hi,

no not that one. There's a CUSTOM-Module named Ledstorm. The URL at Exotica is

http://hangar18.campus.luth.se/exotica/ ... _Storm.lha

I once had the 5th subtune as *.MOD file. Unfortunately my hard disk crashed, the file is lost and I can't find it on the net anymore :-((

I'd be cool if you can help.

Kind regards

Carsten

I remember the tune you're looking for. IIRC, it was either Matt Furniss or Matthew (4-Mat) Simmonds who did the cover version. It got used in some disk magazine which kept turning the lowpass filter on and off whilst the tune played. I've been looking for it myself, but I've yet to find it...

So many disk, so many tunes, so little time!

hum, no idea, sorry... have you checked AMP: http://amp.dascene.net/ for 4-mat's tune?

The Ledstorm.mod on Mods Anthology is the Jogier Liljedahl cover. The Tim Follin original is CUST format only, it was never a mod.

If you're still interested in finding Mods Anthology, you should find it on most Amiga second-hand places or auction sites.

Gryzor's Mods Anthology was a great collection at the time, when most of us didn't have the internet, if we did it was on a modem, and sites like ExoticA and AMP were twinkles in their daddy's eyes. 4 CDs (2.3Gb) of properly credited mods, mostly with info about the composer from the composer themselves, sorted by author and hyper-indexed, ready to play from CD with your favourite Amiga/PC modplayer. It even included a free registration for Pro-Wizard.

However, most of the authors featured have produced more music since 1995, so it's not very complete any more. Also, there were very few game tunes in the collection, and Gryzor was much more a collector of protracker and clones than he was with exotic formats. So, these days, it is much better to visit ExoticA, UnExoticA, and the Amiga Music Preservation (AMP) websites to get your mods.

I ripped the tune from a disk magazine in 90/91, and for some reason I converted it to MED around the same time!

Anyway, here is the tune you're looking for...
