Diggers by Toby Simpson.

Post by Jollet »

:D

Hi Amiga lovers,

I am looking for the beautiful music of the first "Diggers" by Toby Simpson.

I think that the game was made only fot the Amiga CD 32 and it was sold with another game called "Oscar".

Thank you for your help.

Ey up!

Welcome to the forum!

The non-CD soundtrack to Diggers is available here.

The CD versions (as OGG or MP3) will not be available until I have obtained permission from Richard Joseph.

His last e-mail stated he would "get back to me on that one". That's usually a polite way saying no. :(

But persistant is my middle name!
Cheers!

Does he own the copyright himself? I really hope you get permission because that soundtrack was a favourite.

Ey up!

The whole copyright issue is a bit of a grey area. Take a look at 'The World of Spectrum' (WOS) as a good example.

It's highly unlikely that permission for ALL the games to be hosted has been given. Instead, he quotes 'Not disallowed' if he hasn't yet obtained permission. :deal:

Would love to do the same thing with the CDDA tracks, but seeking permission helps me sleep at night!

Of course, the number of CDDA tracks compared to the number of Protracker modules is a small percentage of the UnExoticA archive, though not in kb! Surely, the same copyright exists on the modules as does the CDDA tracks?!?

I'm not sure what the legal status is with obtaining a composers' permission to host their music, or whether the copyright remains with the publisher rather than the composer.

If it's good enough for WOS, it's good enough for me - for now.

Thoughts anyone?
Cheers!
