What is the SPU format present in the FTP ? It contain FF6 for example, but FF6 has been ported on PSX, GBA and of course on SNES. Moreover the files are quite larges and it seem to be a PS2 format but it already exist PSF2... Someone can advise me about this format ? What player is used to read them ?

Thanks

I gusss you are referring to modland ?

I had a little search and according to the internets it is a playstation format that some emulators could "log" the sound output to.

# PSX .SPU | .spu is an obsolete Format, that some emulators could log. This is no longer needed.
So there you go. Probably Coma should delete it but he might be keeping it for some reason. you should probably use the psf/psf2 files. You can get ogg/mp3 recordings from the SF format from the search interface although I think it doesn't work with psf2 yet.

Yep, SPU is obsoleted by PSF. I have a couple more obsolete formats, and I keep them around as long as there are modules in them that are not available in the new formats. This isn't maintained automatically, I just go through the folders once in a while and delete redundant stuff. Some modules are intentionally kept in two formats. An example is the music from Battle Squadron (Ron Klaren and Custom). One is the original and one sound better... which merit both to stay.
