OutRun tape

Post by alexh »

Did we not at one time have the Audio Tape that was bundled with OutRun on UnExotica?? (Perhaps named as CDDA)

I cannot find it anymore, was it requested to be removed or something?

Or am I just imagining it?

Ey up!

No, we've never had that on UnExoticA.

Did the Amiga version come with the cassette too?
Cheers!

Not too sure, my Spectrum memories and Amiga memories blur.

Ey up!

If someone has the original tape they would like to record and encode as OGG, it would be appreciated?

Otherwise, I'll annoy the guys at the World of Spectrum! :D
Cheers!

I think I remembered wrong. It only had afterburner music according to some information online. And I can't find the tape either. Might be in the loft. If it turns up I'll let you know

Nothing that can't be found on the ever grate World of Spectrum (look for the additional material).

We already knew about the version WoS has, cheers, we're also linked to from that page. See 'Additional info' - 'Lost in Translation'

We're after a newly recorded version, encoded as an OGG.
Cheers!

Just for the sake of having it in Ogg? I'm the most ardent advocate of the Vorbis format, but in this case, the problem is you're not going to easily find a better recording than this one. I had this tape in the past and it didn't survive the new millenium, I was actually surprised that someone at WoS still had it around in a decent shape.

I think XtC means he wants a higher quality encoding. the wos file is

22050 Hz mono @ 32.0 kbit and sounds cack (imho)
