Warszawskie copy-party 2 ‘92
Type Amiga Demo Party
Date 1992/11/6-8
Location Warszawa, Poland
Organiser Action Direct, G-Force, Katharsis

Information

Another copy-party held in November, 1992 in Warszawa and hosted by the same organizers, i.e. Action Direct, G-Force (with one member - Dr.Piotr) and Katharsis. The party place, according to Raf/Katharsis, was held in a school, which were just across the Grzybowska street, where, under the same name, the main computer bazaar had place form more than a decade. This kind of place, considering Polish economical and political situation back than, was a main place and a milestone for the home computer industry. Many future scenners, among the others, attended there for a small every-week meeting. The others, not "into the scene", went there to buy both hardware or software, or just by a simple curiousity.

The copy-party was a big success. Many, many scenners from all over the country showed up. Some epics demos were coded inspired by on-the-booze situations.

A very good demonstration which was an unquestionnable winner. Presented some niece and well-coded routines (pixel-to-vector, or a zoom-scroller) Coded till the last minute before the deadline by Mr.Soft and Robin. Features a music masterpiece called "krowa na biegunach.mod" by Cloo/Pic Saint Loup. By this demo W.F.M.H. gained a place of a leader on Polish Amiga scene.

Good two-disked demo by a crew from Bydgoszcz. Contains some nice effects, and a pleasant music. The controversy rose when the organisers found out Old Bulls' members, once again, voted for themselves.

ad.3

Second release by the Tri-city crew. Technically one of the best demos presented, estetically - unfortunately not very impressing, due to the use of "black and white" monitors by the main coder and gfx artist. Never the less worth to see for the music.

ad.4

AfaIr, the first production by the future famous Flying Cows Incorporated. It was a mix of music-disk with some few demo-effects.

ad.5

Second demonstration by the leaders. Not as breathtaking as Deformations.

ad.6

Mad Elks' debut was some kind of a presentetion of a new upcomming group rather than a technical demonstration.

ad.7

Investation released a heavy demo called "Hit the sky" which was rather a coder-design production. Starts by a short, funny animation and later featured effects such as dot planes filled vectors and etc...

ad.8

A debut from an unknown group Defensywa. The demo was rather an announcement of a new group.

ad.9

Coded on the copy party for fun. "Beermacht" was a side project of Tom/Katharsis, Peters/Joker, MadMax/Katharsis between the others. The file demo featured a "beermacht" vector logo-zommer accompanied by a nice techno tune.

Interesting Facts

The party had an impressive big screen. Was the first party in Poland where the organizers decided to introduce the preselection of the entries for the competitions. This fact, from obvious reasons, caused a few disagreements between some contributors and organizers.

The alcohol consumption was more respected than previously. Never the less some dudes did not care at all.

Few Amiga-generated animations were shown, i.e. "Star Wars" or "Global Trash II" by The Silents.
