Thanks to Bjørn for providing this music who had the following to say on AM/FM Special Issue 5, back in 1993...
"I was approached in the summer 1991 by a Norwegian programming team who were developing a game with the working title 'Kasei Vallis'. The members of this programming team were heavily into 'Cyberpunk' and futuristic fantasies, and the game they were making (or rather; planning), reflected this. They wanted a whole lot of music for this game, and I actually worked very hard on this project, composing a Title track, and many different 'in-game' songs. Well, it has now been about two years, and the game still hasn't been released, so I think we can safely say that it won't ever be!"
"The 'in-game' songs I made for this game weren't too exciting; they were meant to be sinister, dark and atmospheric background tunes, which should add atmosphere to the general appearance of the game, but they shouldn't be too distinct. Serving the purpose of adding atmosphere to the game, they worked very well, but as stand-alone music, they would perhaps be a bit boring. Because of this; I have decided to include on this disk only two of the many different in-game songs I made for this game. I have also included the pause-music which was a much more entertaining piece called 'Stardance', and the Intro/Title-track."
'mod.kv.main'
"This is the Intro/Title-track for the game. I tried to make it very 'movie'-like and make a big change from the normal' Amiga/Demo music. I hope and think I managed to do this, to some degree. Keywords of inspiration were; Articicial beings, Cybernetics, Metropolis, Sinister."
'med.StarDance'
"This is the pause-mode music, which I tried to make as, well, entertaining as possible. It is a disco- piece with popping bass, some tight drums and whining leads. I also used some samples from the movie "Harware", to create some special effects in this song. I'm in fact very satisfied with this song; I found it to have a nice feel and some nice twists and turns. And it plays for quite some time..."
'mod.kv.in-game.x'
"These are the in-game background pieces I made for 'Kasei Vallis'. As I also mentioned above, these pieces might appear a bit 'boring' on their own, but they were made with the intention to add atmosphere to the game, without grabbing too much of the players attention. They play for quite a long time, some 7-8 minutes or so. I didn't have too much Chip-memory to play around with either; so I'm afraid the variety of instruments isn't too impressive. However, I tried to use the instruments I had in as many different ways as possible, getting the most out of each kb of chipmem."
'mod.kv.combat.fullvolum'
"Well, as the name implies, this is the music that plays in the background while a combat sequence is ongoing. Once again I had a very limited supply of chip mem to use from, so don't expect any nice, meaty samples."
