Talk:IRIS

From ExoticA

Again some funny stuff. Chris / IRIS was the original founder/organizer of this group in 1988 or early 1989. It's a really old group which wasn't mainstream at the time. This guy Chris was based in L'Isle Adam 50 km north of Paris. IRIS meant Illi Recentes ImperatoreS. At once and for a short time it has been a subdivision of Brainstormers (in 04/1989 if I remember well). Or maybe it's a different IRIS depicted here. I'm not familiar enough with this group except for the said short time in 1989. Considering this I'm not sure if you're right to quote this page as an example for editing other pages on the Wiki. Sorry for this. --Voyce (talk) 22:14, 11 June 2013 (GMT)

I don't see anything funny here. It just lacks info from the earlier IRIS days. As you said, you only were familiar with the group in 1989. I was a member of IRIS in much later days btw. And the page is quoted as an example of "wiki formatting", as some of the pages do not have any formatting at all. BuZz (talk) 22:11, 13 June 2013 (GMT)

I apologize for using "funny" when it wasn't funny. Sorry for the rants. As said in my recent e-mail to you, making Exotica a Wiki was a fantastic idea. The only thing being that nearly all pages I come across contain really inaccurate facts and I'm getting mad at all the work it will need for me to get everything right. If I don't do it I'm not sure someone else will do. As you are the only source on the Web for this kind of information, and being a former member of the official press (IT and economic/financial), I tend to be very picky with all these things. Still there are some very good edits. I have learnt nice info about Unit A for instance. And yes this IRIS page is very well formatted, with pictures for intros/demos, which gives me the idea to do the same for 2-3 of my former groups. Also it's a legitimate choice as an example for other edits. Still, I guess that Chris, if he comes around, could help with more details on the old years. In 1989 I was just familiar with him, not the rest of the group. Please don't take my previous post so bad. Best regards. François --Voyce (talk) 15:37, 15 June 2013 (GMT)

Finally I've decided to do some improvements on this page, in tribute to your group. A more than 20-years continuously living group deserves respect, and I'm pleased to help in that matter. Same goes for Delight which I've founded in 02/1991, so I thank you in advance for your kind help with my request. Yours sincerely, --Voyce (talk) 10:11, 16 June 2013 (GMT)
