About The Game

Shienryu is a vertically scrolling arcade video game shoot-em-up.

Trivia

Released in December 1996.

Shi en ryu translates as 'Purple flame dragon'.

The 1st boss design and combat environment in this game is clearly based on the 1st boss of "Daioh", a 1993 shoot-em-up produced by the same staff. Also, the 3rd boss is clearly based on the 3rd boss in "Daioh". Perhaps more similarities to find?

The game forbids the initials 'SEX' on the high score table. If you try, it gets changed to 'ISH'.
